STAMINABAR: REAL-LIFE STATS = IN-GAME BUFFS.
How a thought during wedding training turned into Staminabar, what we have built so far, and why our first game mods are coming soon.

It started with a wedding
A while back I was training hard for my wedding. Early mornings, heavy lifts, more sleep than I had managed in years. I was getting stronger every week, and I could feel it. Then I would get home, sit down at my PC, and my character in game was exactly the same as the day before.
"I was training for my wedding and thought: wouldn't it be cool if every rep I put in at the gym made my character in game that much more powerful?"
That thought stuck. Games have always been great at rewarding effort with numbers. Strength, stamina, carry weight, health regen. Real life has those numbers too, they just live on your phone and your watch, and no game ever looks at them. We wanted to close that gap without turning games into a fitness app and without handing anyone's health data to a game studio.
What Staminabar is
Staminabar is a phone app and infrastructure that reads your health and wearables data and turns it into nine game attributes, each scored from 0 to 100. Four move day to day: readiness, rest, exertion and discipline. Five move slowly, the way fitness does: stamina, power, mobility, balance and constitution.
Games only ever see those nine scores, along with a tier, a state and a trend for each. They never get your heart rate, your sleep times, your weight, your workouts or who you are. A game knows you are well rested today. It does not know when you went to bed.

Where we are today
The core of Staminabar is built. The phone app is in closed testing, and the system behind it is up and running: it reads health data, works out the nine scores, and serves them to games you have approved.
Pairing works the way we wanted it to. A game shows a QR code, you scan it in the app, and you see the game's verified name and publisher before you tap Allow or Deny. You can disconnect any game at any time, and it stops getting your scores within 60 seconds. There is no Android app yet.
Next up: our own demo mods
Infrastructure is only half the story. You need to feel it in a game. So the first games to use Staminabar will be mods we build ourselves, starting with Skyrim, then Minecraft and Fallout 4.
In Skyrim, for example, a strong week of real-world strength training raises how much you can carry, and a good night of sleep means you start the day with more stamina. In Minecraft, the rest you actually got shapes how you survive the night. These demos are coming soon, and they are how we will show what Staminabar feels like in a real game.

Join us early
Players: join the waitlist and we will email you the moment there is a demo to try. Developers: there is no public developer program yet, but join the developer waitlist and you will be first to hear when access opens. Tell us what you would build with nine attributes. We are reading every answer.
Scores are game attributes, not health advice. Staminabar is not a medical product.
